THE LAUNCH: my event business

Welcome to my business blog and thank you for sparing time to read my first business blog post.

It would only be right (plus I’m too excited to hide it any longer!) to start by introducing Engage Events & Exhibitions. A business I launched in January 2020 but has been a dream since 2015.
Your support of a follow, like or share on my social pages is always appreciated as a start-up!

You may have seen back in November 2018, the UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry announced a report on ‘Women in the Exhibition Industry’ which took me by surprise.
It was amazing to see that 82% of responders highly appreciated working within the exhibition industry and loved their jobs. However, a staggering amount of ladies (over 50%) did not feel treated equally when it came to salary and career opportunities. Why is this the case? A huge part of Engage Event’s business mission is to empower the women of this industry sector.

Studies found that responses felt the industry would benefit from more female leaders and 61% already see active support for women. Engage understands men and women have different, yet complimentary skill sets but we want to encourage the industry to make the path to the top a little easier. I started in this industry as a young girl, I’ve worked for 2 large corporate event service company’s and I understand the inequality taking place. To read more about me and what I’ve been up to in my career to far, click here.

Women…you need to stop thinking of yourselves less than any man, forget self-perception because you’re changing 2020 to become YOUR year. It’s time we all spoke up, I, Chloe Bucknell am right behind every single one of you. Together, we will concur the challenges we face as women in a masculine-led industry and we will change the mindset of those set in their ways.

The world, our industry and times are all moving forward and it’s time you did too.

I look forward to you all following my journey. Please do get in touch if you’d like a chat or any ideas on working together!
